Way to Go Rebels!

Fantastic Faculty News

The RHS Theatre Department did a fabulous job performing "Shrek-The Musical" this past weekend.  If you did not get a chance to see this production, you really missed out!  Our students put on 6 performances.  One as a reward for RHS students who were passing all classes and had good attendance, 4 for the public and 1 for 2nd grade students from RHS feeder elementary schools.  The set, actors, and the music was fantastic!   Congratulations  to Camille Haley on a job well done!

Jocelyn Harty, W. History teacher, transformed her classrooms (pictured below) into a restaurant!

“We just read and learned about the Age of Revolutions, and used this as a cumulative review before their comparative essay test. In our activity, the students were split into groups of four and each table divvied up the revolutions between group members (American, French, Haitian, or Latin America).  Students then created a recipe for their respective revolution. Ingredients represented causes, the preparation steps represented actions of the revolution, and a description of their final product represented effects of the revolution.

Creativity and historical details were keys to success! To create a kitchen atmosphere I turned my classroom into a restaurant (shout out to Elizabeth Lundy for the centerpieces!) with chef hats and cooking utensils, we also listened to French restaurant music before and during class. All of this to ensure that we had a fun, memorable experience while also doing rigorous work to help prepare them for the AP Exam in May.”
